Strategic Action Plan for UIC Asia-Pacific 2017-2020

Almost two years have passed since the approval of one of the main UIC strategic documents for the development of railway transport in the Asia-Pacific region – Vision 2050, on the basis of which this Strategic Action Plan was created.
Despite the differences in the priorities of economic development and the needs of countries within the Asia-Pacific region, we find common themes for discussion and direct our joint efforts to improve the railway system of the entire region.
Development of the joint projects on the topics presented in the Vision 2050, and also in a number of other areas related to new challenges in the implementation of digital technologies, improving the quality of services and reducing the time for cargo
delivery, is an important step towards the creation of a new railway transport system in the region.

Economy and transport in the Asia-Pacific region are growing the most rapidly in the world. Railways are also already prerequisite for mobility in the Asia-Pacific region.
