Research on Optimal Speed for High Speed Lines - Volume I

This research on optimum speed in the field of High Speed rail systems has been carried out as a result of the contract signed between the International Railways Association (UIC) and the Fundación Caminos de Hierro para la Investigación y la Ingeniería Ferroviaria (FCH) on 2011. The study took twelve months to complete, having started on October 1, 2011. The purpose and direction of the research have been defined and implemented by the UIC Intercity and High Speed Committee that has overseen its evolution through intermediate monitoring meetings. The research tasks were carried out by a team of Fundación Caminos de Hierro rail experts and researchers specialized in the different subjects that form part of the study.
