Rolling Stock - Brakes issuing the UIC label for vehicle components
The International Union of Railways (UIC) develops and distributes International Railway Solutions (IRSs) in order to support stakeholders in the railway sector in achieving harmonisation and greater collaboration.
This document describes the labelling process for railway products defined and applied by UIC.
Product conformity is evaluated on the basis of IRSs/UIC leaflets and/or any reference documents deemed relevant by the competent UIC body (Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs), standards (ISO, EN) etc.) and which contain the technical requirements set out by UIC in respect of the product.
This procedure culminates in the decision to issue or not to issue a UIC label for products considered to meet such requirements.
Any operating incidents related to the product will result in the immediate withdrawal of the UIC label.
It integrates in full or in part the following UIC leaflets:
