The International Union of Railways (UIC) develops and distributes International Railway Solutions (IRSs) in order to help railway stakeholders, achieve further harmonisation and collaboration.
This IRS sets out the technical conditions which must be met so that roller units basically designed for conveyance on road vehicles may also be carried without difficulty by rail.
It is addressed to Railway Undertakings and bodies in charge of coding according to IRS 50596-6 [3].
