UIC railway statistics

This document specifies the rules for the scope, submission, compilation and publication of International Railway Statistics. Individual UIC member railways contribute to these statistics and provide the relevant basic data at company level. The UIC member railways that contribute to these statistics have the right to use the data and statistical indicators.

It integrates in full or in part the following UIC leaflets:

The International Railway Statistics publication, updated annually, compiles hundreds of railway indicators and is exclusively available to UIC members. However, data from member railways for a selected set of fundamental indicators are made accessible through the web application RAILISA:

Detailed definitions of all statistical variables and indicators are provided in the annex of IRS 30398. This annex is updated twice a year and is available upon request. To obtain a copy, please contact stat@uic.org
