Railway time-series data 1970-2009: Indexes

This trilingual publication shows the trends in the main statistical indicators between 1970 and 2009 indexes for UIC member railway companies. The statistics cover the years 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

These indicators relate to the length of lines, rolling stock, staff, train routes, passenger traffic - including high speed - and freight traffic, as well as intermodal transport, operating expenditure and revenues. Figures relating to each company are presented in 12 at-a-glance tables, making them easy to consult.

Accompanying these tables are a table of contents, an index showing the development of railway company structures, plus an index of countries and explanatory notes.
