Catalogue of harmonised train procedures for the accelerated transfer of freight trains between cooperating Railway Undertakings (RUs) at handover points
The International Union of Railways (UIC) aims to use the following document to boost interoperability on freight corridors (in Europe, referred to as European Transport Corridors) and other international routes by providing RUs with a catalogue of tools. This will help to make their trains interoperable and enable the accelerated transfer of freight trains at handover points.
The IRS is compatible with TSI-OPE and TAF-TSI provisions.
It integrates in full or in part the following UIC leaflets:
